I was in Blood River April 20-23rd and I'd echo the above comments. The fish were spread out all over. The best we did was four out of one stakebed, otherwise it was one here and one there. Caught a couple on the ledges, a few on deeper points, most in stakebeds using minnows. A red roadrunner head and red/chartreuse curly tail was the best jig we tossed. Over two days, only once did I see a double caught out of my boat. My buddy caught 28 in two days he fished with me, I caught 48 keepers over four days fishing. Fish size was good. 75% whites. I caught females spewing eggs, some far from spawning, and some already spawned out. I couldn't make much sense of it all. Good trip nonetheless. It has probably gotten tougher since Friday's cold front, cold temps, and wind.
