    Default Back from Reelfoot.

Tough, tough, tough. Wind and weather was crazy. I was at Bo's Friday gettin' some minnows and he was telling me that he was sending all of his rental boats down to the wash out. Thats the first time I have seen that. We caught some fish anywhere from 14' to 4-5' of water. Spent most of the trip fishing the washout myself. Not our best trip by far but we had fun, fellowship, some good meals and learned some new water. Water temps were in the low 50's. I mainly spider rigged/pushed. Caught a few nice females in the 1 1/2# range. Hope y'all had a good weekend and have some nice fillets for supper.

If the weather(rain) will stay decent, I'll hit Herrington one evening this week after work. It is still up but had good color to it when I came across the 34 bridge this afternoon. I'll post a report for ya if I get to go.

I know exactly how you feel. We have been to the foot many times, and had mother nature kick our butts. 60-70 deg at home, get there and maybe 45 deg with 20 mph winds. Its a chance that you take planning a trip this time of year. We decided a few years back that we would catch all are crappie at home, and make our trips to Reelfoot later in the year (around May-June) It has worked out pretty good. The weather is a whole lot nicer, not much crappie, but I dont have a problem with catching 1lb. bluegill all day. Also is alot less crowded. Who am I kiddin, if I could afford to go more than once or twice a year, Id be there in the cold and wind, fishin and cussin. Better luck next time.

    Default Hang in there!

    Hello Brother,

Just ole crappiecrider glad to hear to visited my favorite crappie hole. My buddy and I fished from october and he fished up until March. The winter months are much better for us. Get there at daylight in January, not much wind and start rigging those spider sets. Maybe sometime we can go together. I fish a lot on the south end and green island, depending on the wind. I fish on the north end some, however, the fishing is much tougher there. Good luck on Herrington. That is a long way aways. The south always welcomes you.

    Your Brother,
    crappiecrider
