Hello, I am a guide up in Illinois but have been down to Paris Landing tons and I was there the 1st,2nd,3rd,15th,16th,17th of this month and will be back this weekend as well. I was going to fish tourney but my boss wanted to bring one of his biggest clients so the three of us are just going to fun fish. Anyway I have really been on them all month even with high water. I had a 12.9 stringer on 16th and a 13.8 stringer on the 3rd both were seven fish stringers and I have been averaging anywhere about 40 to 60 keepers a day. I know the area very well and Sharon the owner of Fishtale can attest to that. I am telling you to forget your dislike of fishing deep. The best fish are on the ledges (still) and with the water high as it was when I was there on 15,16,17 you have to move out to 23-28 ft. Just to fish the same brush that you would use at winter pool. That is where they live all winter and the surface temps were about 53 when I was the last. Still too cold to get a mass movement into the bays. My best fish early in the month came on a quarter-ounce Bighead jig and a emerald-blue tube, but last trip our biggest fish came on a corn yellow and chartreuse tube and same jighead. I was using the big two and a half Midsouth tube and tipping with a rosyred minnow. The bigger tubes worked better with the dirty water. I am coming in sometime Friday and I have a maroon chevy 4-wheel drive pulling a Ranger 521 that is white, red and dark red. Good luck in tourney sure I will run into you sometime this weekend. Oh yeah you can go over to Illinois board and look through old posts and find pictures of my stringers of this month. Our biggest this month caught by my wife was 2.7. We had three over two pounds that day, March 1st

    crappie24,

The lake level today was 363, water temperature was 50 degrees, water color dingy. I imagine the lake, according to the internet, will be dropping a little bit Saturday. The wind is suppose to be out of the northeast at 10 miles an hour, gusting up to 17. Hope this will help you.
