New crappie limits?
I have been reading on here about the new crappie limit of 20 on Ky. lake, but when I go to the Fish & Wildlife Dept. website it still shows 30 for the daily creel. I plan on going to Ky. lake in Kentucky and Tennesse before too long so I want to make sure of the creel limits. Any help or links on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the link Biggerbear. If I didnt get on here I wouldnt even have known because I havent seen it anywhere. I live in Scottsville which is 20 miles from Bowling Green. It isnt worth driving all the way down there for 20 crappie. I guess I'll just concentrate on fishing Barren River lake. Its only 15 minutes away......lol. Thanks again for the info.
FWIW maybe they should put a boat limit on instead of per person, 30 or 40 per boat.

How about zero between 10am and 4pm. LOL

Oh yeah one more thing. Is this just in kentucky part of ky lake or is it the tenn. part too. I fish both sometimes the same day. Blood River in Ky. and Panther Bay in Tenn. thanks

What Kentucky has done with the limits is the correct thing to do. It's about safeguarding the resources and providing quality fish in the river systems. TENN. needs to follow because like you say, if I can't go and catch a cooler full in Kentucky, mind as well hop the line and catch them there. I hope that we can impress on TWRA that we need a 20 fish, 12 in. min length limit to help keep producing quality fish. IT SHOULD BE DONE!
I'm going to Grenada for three days and I don't care if it's twenty a day or not. Never been and want a chance at catching a hog.
I'm not saying we don't want people coming and fishing from out of state...that isn't the case but if the reasoning is what has been stated above Tenn. is going to have a problem.

Fellas, i've come down to Ky lake at least one week every spring for the last 20 years. When i first started coming down, it was for the number of big fish. After about 5 trips, that changed. Found myself coming down to relax and enjoy the area. We'd still have snow up here in early april. It's a 12 hour drive from PA to Aurora. I watched the season change as i ride south. From snow and blustery weather to seeing buds on the trees, grass on the ground, and red dirt on the roadside. By the time i get past Louisville, it's a whole new world.
Bottomline is, i dont care if they impose a 10 fish, 15" size limit, You're going to see my lund floating around Jonathon creek and Ledbetter area every year until i cant make the trip anymore. I challenge myself every year to top my personal best there. It was 2lb 15 oz since 2002. I beat it last spring at 3lb 2oz. Come on 4lber.:D

Well said Chaunc, my feelings exactly. I'll be there April 12 thru 19th. That's a great place to be.
My biggest was 16 1/2" but when I pulled it from the livewell to show it to my buddy, he reached in his livewell and pulled one out that was 17 1/2". My scale was broke so I don't know what they weighed.
That just doesn't happen here in the Southwest Ohio Lakes. No size limits, no possesion limits. People will keep all the 7"-8" crappie they can catch. A few select lakes have a nine inch size limit. Still no possesion limits. 9" to 10" are common. If it were all about how many fish I could bring home vs the money, I'd just buy them at the grocery, it would have to be cheaper.
