    Default Waiting on Mother Nature

Well I'm set on go, but just waiting on Mother Nature. With the high water and cold temps this week, I think it's going to slow things down. My son's spring break starts this Saturday and they are out of school for two weeks.

We go to Ky/Lake every year during this time. Last year we were there on the 13th and 14th. It was unusually warm and we did real well. Unless things warm up fast, looks like we'll be waiting for his second week off to make a trip.

Can't wait to hit it though, I'm eagerly anticipating warmer water and blooming dogwoods. BRING ON SPRING!!!

    Talking Not To Worry

Last year about this time I was catching the boat instead of about to get off like I am now. I prayed real hard for a cold front or 2 to hold the crappie off till I got home. Welllllll..... If you remember, I over did it a little. :o Man what a cold front! I learned my lesson! Be careful for what you wish for! I checked the extended forecast & It looks like God has forgiven me. I get off Saturday & the temps are suposed to start creep'n up! YEA!!!!!!:D

Get yur gear ready boys! Wiskers is headed home!

Brad, I hope you and your son have a great trip. Let us know how they bite.

    Default Hey Wiskers !

Just got through cleaning out the tackle box, and got the poles ready to head that way on the 15th. Looking forward to fishing and being off a week. I will give ya a shout when I get there.

Weather has me hold'ed up too. Wanted to go out this Thursday/Friday to Lake Malone, but that "snow" in the forecast put's a stop to that. Would have been my first crappie fishing trip to that lake. But, have never tried to launch or retrieve a boat on a snow covered ramp and hope I hope I never have to learn. I'll wait for better weather, then try Lake Malone or the twin lakes (KY/Barkley).

    Good Fishing,
    Gary

    Gary,
You had better hold off on Malone for a while. I is very
high and muddy. I have not seen the water level this high all winter. We got several inches of rain. If you want to call me and get lake info. PM for my cell. I am leaving for Guntersville this Sunday for a few days.

Thanks Brad! I am going with Scott M. and his crew. 12 fisherman and 6 boats. Most of them will be bass fishing but I will forgive them. LOL. Lots of fishing and food! I hope the weather is decent. If I can just get over that Mt Eagle I think I will be okay.

    Later,
    Tom

mother nature is coming to visit tomorrow, right now it's 50 degrees and sunny tomorrow the weather man is saying 4 to 8 inches of snow. if the weather doesn't warm up soon there's going to be a big hole in my wall where I'm banging my head against it.

CC, hope you guys wack-em good at Guntersville next week. Thanks for the info on Malone. I may be in touch if I get another chance to get over that way this year. As I said, never fished there for crappie, in fact only been on the lake one time and then bass fishing. Pretty lake, with clear water like some of the lakes in central/eastern KY/TN. Still, I would think a man should be able to find some crappie in the back of the creeks or trolling the creek beds???
