    Default Lucky Me!!!!

Just found out that next Friday the wife and I are both off of work. Told her I was taking her on a romantic weekend crappie fishing. Haven't figured out if we are heading to Rough, Nolin, or KY Lake. Any thoughts of which one is hotter right now. I am leaning towards Blood River on KY Lake but also just noticed the place I usually stay has some tennis tournament in town. KenLake is where we usually go because of state discounts. Any other suggestions if KY Lake is the suggestion would be welcome. I know where to stay at Rough but have no clue at Nolin where a fairly decent place is. It doesn't have to be the Hyatt, but I am taking the wife so fish guts in the lavatory probably won't fly.

I'd say Big Sandy at Kentucky Lake is producing a ton of crappie right know from the report I got today. 4 guys fished out of 2 boats Sat. and Sun. and both boats had limits in half a day both times. That is 240 crappie between 4guys in only 10 or so hours fishing!

Same guys fished Blood looking for bigger fish Monday or Tues. (not sure which day) and between the 2 boats they only managed to catch 17 keepers between them in almost a full day fishing and they know Blood a lot better than Big Sandy! Unfortunately I fish Blood since that is where my cabin is at, but have never been to Big Sandy, but may have to take a trip that direction myself. If I was making your drive to Kentucky Lake I would be headed to Big Sandy based on this report! I have no idea what the deal is w/ Big Sandy, but they always seem like they catch more fish down there when the water temps are below 50.

    Good luck.......

If you decide to go down toward the Big Sandy area, right there on Hwy 79 after you pass Paris Landing State Park, theres a place called Fishtale Lodge, they have both motel and Cabins and they also have a new resturant there. The place is not real old. I like them myself real nice people that own them.

I am still watching the weather and the sudden increase in gas again may make me head to Rough or Nolin since they are so much closer.

Take your kids hunting and fishing, and you won't be hunting your kids
