I've just noticed on more than one occasion that I seem to get more bites on the rod I have spooled with fluoro-carbon.

Fluoro-carbon is supposed to be invisilble in the water and I think sinks faster, so maybe this has more to do with it than anything. At one point I hooked up with 5 fish in a row all caught on the rod with Fluoro- my other two rods and my dads three rods were spooled with Stren 6lb and P-line 6lb, they didn't get near the bites.

Could be other factors I guess, just an observation on my part. I had enough success with it that I'll continue to use it.
    Brad,
    Thanks for the info! Interesting!

I would like to try some long line trolling with you on Malone sometime. I have never done much of it. Just played around a few times and caught a few fish.

Tom that sounds good, let me know when the water temp gets up in the upper 50's and we'll sure give it a try. I've got rod-holders on the my rig so I don't mind bringing mine up. I've never done real well on the Crappie on Malone, but haven't seriously gone after them much there either. I used to frequent the Lake once a week back during my pursuit of Green Carp. You'll just have to let me know when your having the next fish fry. lol!
