You can't finish what you don't start
for the report. Sounds like "the ville" is finally cooling down enough to start considering going there. Probably should have stayed here and went there, instead of going to Watts Bar. Cut my trip short and came home, fishing was that slow. Keep them reports coming, and thanks for keeping us informed.Originally Posted by arca54

Got to run off for a few hours today
water is still clear 68-70 degree
i usually fish fairly deep brush but didn't get one hit
tried outside bend trees, main lake downed trees nothing
went over behind marina to find old fish attractor didn't find
one nothing looking tree nearby so i tried a bobber on it in 8 ft water
caught nine keepers from 11:30-noon
i hate not finding them but i guess dumb luck will eat well
anyone figure them out let me know
I think that's typical for Taylorsville, you can fish all day with
no success and then find one spot and do well.
You have to keep moveing, that's the secret.
And time of day is a big factor.
I have lots of places that usually don't produce untill the
last hour of daylight.
My best fishing is usually when everyone else is leaving or gone home.
The middle of the day is the toughest.![]()

There's no doubt that T-ville can be stingy with its fish. And not all "spots" are equal ... even when they're very similar in cover/depth. Having a "milk run" of 5 or 6 spots to try, is a good thing !!Originally Posted by JCCLARK
Haven't fished the waning hours of the day, but usually have had success from the crack of dawn until midday sun has removed all shade from over my spots. I'm wondering if my early AM spots are some of the same as your late PM ones:D (wouldn't surprise me none
)

That explains why there's no fish there when I get there:D

IF it had been me that was catchin 'em .... but, I ain't been to T-ville but a couple of times in the last few yearsOriginally Posted by JCCLARK

JC ... did you ever fish the big blowdown across from the Marina ramp ?? (if standing on the ramp and looking out towards the main lake/no wake markers ... it would be almost to your immediate right, kind of at the mouth of that pocket and at the end of the old roadbed). Man, that old tree used to hold a bunch of fish ... all year long. Must have gotten washed away in one of the floods that T-ville experiences. It's been gone for a couple of years now. I really miss it !!

No, I never fished that area at all, I usually go to
Chowning Lane and fish the upper lake area.![]()

Have you ever fished the blowdown that's near the Chowning Ramp ?Originally Posted by jclark
Standing on ramp ... and looking left towards dam end of lake/Timber Creek ... there's a pocket that runs around that end of the parking lot ... on the point, just on the other side of that pocket, is a stand of trees ... there's a big hollow stump in with them ... straight towards the bank, from that stump, should be a large blowdown. I've caught Crappie from that blowdown, all the way out to the hollow stump. It's been quite a few years since I've been to it, so it may not still be there. And, if it's not ... it would be a real good place to sink something![]()
