Water temp- 48°
Color-stained
Air temp- 60’s
Wind-15+ SW
Boys I got blanked on keepers today, but my main mission was to ensure my motor would stay online and all of my bells and whistles worked. Which to my surprise I had no issues, Professional Marine service got me lined out..if anyone in the Louisville area is needed a mechanic these guys did me right. Anyhoo…I was pitching 1/16 jigs..and I literally caught fish every time I decided to stop but man where they short. I’d guess 50+ between 9-10”, mostly males. I was supposed to see the water temp actually drop today, it was 49° @ 8:30 and I returned to the same spot I started @3:00 and it had dropped a degree..some science happening right there I can’t quite explain it. I caught them in deep water, but the wind drove me out of my wheelhouse so I went shallow. Even with the below 50 temps the fish were really stacked up in a creek. I’d say the majority of my afternoon bites came out of 15 feet of water 6-10 feet down. So there it is a solid report if you want to catch a bunch of dinks…I never in my 41 years have had a solid “banner” first day out, so I’m not hitting the panic button just yet.
