I talked myself into purchasing two downriggers to try trolling for Crappie and Hybrid. Tried them out for the first time today......Took a while getting the hang of them but believe I already discovered a big advantage. There were numerous other boats trolling on the lake today but very few were catching. We managed to boat near 20 hybrid most averaging 6lbs. Had a couple break off, would of liked to have seen how big they were.
Here's my knuckleheaded son with two of the nicer ones.
Can't wait to try them for crappie! Hopefully my nest post will be of some crappies!

but .... fess up :p ... how bad did "knucklehead" whoop up on you, this time:D :D

Your right about the haircut....and the outfishing me part again, lol! didn't press him to hard about it. It's just been kind of more of a running joke. He really has a ball with those hybrids. They sure put on the fight! I'm planning on taking two of my nephews real soon. Neither one of them has ever caught a fish before, so it should be fun watching their expression with one of those fish.
nice fish, good job...
yea those downriggers are tricky the first ime.

Since GRL is a 2hr drive (each way) from home ... I'd sure like to know a little more detailed info, before making such a trip :p --- if'n I'd mind to do so.
And congrats on a nice haul, too, by the way !!
