So guys I know it’s not crappie, but hunting is a big part of my life and it will continue to be until I can’t do it anymore. Six months lead time on my jet drive lower unit (made the switch…gonna have me a dedicated riverboat, and a separate crappie boat…looking into a pontoon) so I’ve began the tedious task of getting ready to hunt birds in Prarie Canada, Nodak, WKY, SEMO and of course NE Arkansas’s Grand Prarie. I’ll be buddy hunting (for fun not for currency..guide speak) for a week in Manitoba then
my obligations begin. We run a non resident hunting club from my base in Nodak which is nothing short of extraordinary, barring S Texas it’s the best hunting I’ve done on this side of the Border. After Halloween I make my trek back to NE Arkansas where I’m guiding with Blue Silo Duck Club,LLC for Specks and Snows. It’s an ardent task but I love it, somehow out in that gumbo mud I find peace, serenity and I do some of my best thinking. I hope you boys keep sore lipping those crappie for me while I’m out of pocket. I know it’s a transition time and not many guys are fishing but man I’d have been out there today, i love the drizzly weather keeps the traffic light and the fish generally don’t mind to bite. I guess the takeaway from this long winded post was I miss the “thump” and I miss telling lies to my fishing buddies. Y’all be safe out there I’ll be w y’all in spirit.
