    Default Fishing Today

[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]Well I'll go ahead an apologize up front for posting these pic's being they are not Crappie. My 13 year old son and I fished a friendly work Bass tournament on Barren River Lake, if you call it a tournament. 8 of us just got together and threw in $10.00 Dollars each and went fishing. I haven't fished for bass in so long guess I forgot how to. My son on the other hand figured them out enough to catch a 3 lb largemouth and one other small keeper, which had him taking first place and $80.00. I had to grease his ears to get his head inside the truck after he put it on us.

After the tournament, we stayed on the lake and trolled for some hybrids. My son continued to put it on me today. He caught the biggest hybrid about 4.5 lbs and a bonus largemouth that was right at 5lbs. I'm going to make him stay home next time.

Best part about it, before we fished today we decided that if we won anything we would split the winnings. So, I benefited from his winnings.[IMG][IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

I won't get into that :p I've had many different "long hair doos", over my lifetime ... and currently have a ponytail (even though I'm balding and grey headed :D )

Maybe he ought to be putting his money into a savings account ... he's going to be wanting a "ride" of his own, before too long .... LOL!!

Oh, and no need to apologize for posting "non-crappie" pics ... we may be Crappie.com, and our primary purpose may be to forward the catching, management, and conservation of our "favored" fish ... but, we don't discriminate against anglers that fish for other species - especially when they're passing their love of angling on to the next generation. Ain't no tellin where I'd be, or what I'd be doin ... if fishing hadn't been such a big deal during my upbringing.

Pat, he just get's lucky that's all I can tell you. Seriously though, we had a good time on the water. I'd much rather he catch them anyway.

Give me a yell when you have some free time.

I know what you mean. Seeing my 26 yr old daughter and my wife catch fish the past few weeks was a blast. Will be talking with you soon. Thanks

Getting ready to leave forth of July for my first trip to Canada with my two sons. Going after some smallmouths and can't wait. Aways have a great time but this will be my first trip up north with the two of them. I will post some pics when I get back.

Hope to catch a few that look like those pics. Sounds like it was a great trip.
