Kentucky Lake is a big lake.....I usually fish there March and April. Weather can play a bunch on whether your catching them good or not. I'd suggest just learning as much about an area you want to fish and try to get there when conditions are the best. Try to gain some insight on what depth the crappie are and then just look for structure on your graph. Most creeks are full of structure. Water temp will play a big part in where you'll find them. Good luck!

you will surely want to look thru this entire article :

    http://www.kdfwr.state.ky.us/navigat...vPath=C101C552

There are many places to stay ... just depends on what part of the lake you plan to be on, what your budget will allow, how close to the water you want to be, when you plan on being there, and whether you want a campsite - motel type room - cabin - etc (& how many people are in your group).

Due to previous drought conditions for a couple of years, the re-emergence of the grass, and the invasion of the Zebra Mussel .... KY Lake has changed in the last several years. Black Crappie now make up a higher percentage of the Crappie numbers, so you'll have to take that into account as far as the "where" & "when" (the KDFWR article will shed a lot more light on that).
And, if you're more into dropping a minnow/float into shoreline brush, around stumps & downed timber ... Barkley Lake is a better bet. But, even then you'd have to time it right ... so that the brush/buckbushes were in deep enough water.

Stay tuned and keep you eyes on this forum, the TN state forum, and the Main Message Board ... when things start happening, members will be posting about it
