Fished solo this morning, didn’t leave my house until around 8:00, was radar watching and made the decision to give it a go. I didn’t expect a lot, judging from yesterday’s performance but boy what a difference a day makes. These crappie were burying these rod tips 3 eyes deep in the water today. No light bites, absolutely inhaling my 1/4oz jig offerings to the backs of their throats. Light wind and non existent early boat traffic allowing me to present my bait right in their face without any issue. I was throwing back 10.5” fish by noon with a limit of really nice fish. Typical summertime patterns are providing consistent action, 10-12 feet down in water 20-40 feet deep, log piles and submerged cover on points, mouths of bays, and ledges all seem to be holding fish. Y’all be careful out there, lots of floaters from the recent rains, water was stained, temp was 77 when I left.
