Getting used to 14 ft rods. It can be difficult but really cool when you figure a few things out. Easier to use the 12's I started with but I feel I catch more now. Catfish on inner rods and hangups will try your patience! Nothing better on suspended fish in deeper water OVER structure! I tend to use a one hook Capps and Coleman type rig most of the time because I just got tired of the mess I made with 2 hook rigs! Stay with it, it can really work for most of the year when there are always fish lurking under the shad balls!
