So work was light today, after I sat a boiler for the remodel, I realized it was only 2:00. Probably better hook up the boat and try em out, no point in wasting a decent afternoon. I went home and scooped up Rocko, launched @ Settlers around 4:00. Did not feeling like going toward the river, tired of catching fish up there, decided to make good on my promise to myself to fish different spots. So I threw a dart at the proverbial wall so to speak (Scientific form of data compilation from past experiences, calmness of the water, and emptiness of my gas tank) and decided to fish in between the WMA and a half mile south of HorseShoe Bend, in a cove which had a nice break from the West wind. Promised momma bear two hours of fishing time, so from 4:30 to 6:30 I caught 4 crappie. Very slow during this time period, on a normal day we generally catch anywhere from 10-20 in this quick window I have during the week. I’ve caught more several times this year but we typically enjoy consistent action, give or take a lull or two. Spoke with one other boat, two young Bro’s. Informed me that they caught a “s***load”, with a swift refusal to let me peek in the cooler. Gonna give em a go tomorrow as well. Report to follow.
Good luck out there boys. Name: IMG_5572.jpg
