No, don't buy 'em. The information is useless. It won't help you a bit!
Really though, it is great stuff. I bought the Blood River CD and I showed a 20 year veteran of the area some new spots and we caught over half that day's catch on the new spots! You will need to sit down on the computer for several hours marking spots, naming spots, and downloading on a GPS. It is all a very friendly program and process that anybody can figure out. I highly recommend it if you want to level the playing field with the guys who know the lake like the back of their hands. It is almost cheating.
What it will NOT do, in my experience, is show you the structure in the backs of bays that the fish head to when they are spawning with the lake at full summer pool. It is most useful to find spots in 5 to 20 feet of water pre-spawn when the lake is lower.
I printed off the index maps and marked the locations on the maps that I had downloaded into the GPS. That way, I look at a map and then go to the indicated waypoint using the GPS. Run to it, find the structure on a depthfinder and throw out a buoy, and then start fishing. I am convinced a LOT of guys are using it because there were already folks fishing around all the spots I had chosen.
PM me if anybody wants an unused copy of KY Lake NE for say, half price. It is all the coves on the NE side of the lake from the Dam and south of there. I don't fish there and never used the CD.
