The budget isnt exactly separated by purpose. Its complicated, but essentially thats the amount of funding in the district which is used to buy "building materials". rope, blocks, wood, etc. It isnt much, but the department is investing more and more in habitat in recent years including the creation of a new fish habitat branch with full time staff that focus on large scale habitat projects. More money than 3500 is technically spent on habitat each year in the form of fuel and personnel costs. We are lucky that the types of habitat we do are pretty cheap and we receive a lot of help in the form of donated material from local businesses.
