Sounds like a great day and a nice mess of fish to boot. Thanks for the report and pic.
Yes, as a matter of fact, I do have a retirement plan...FISHING!

Things change from day to day & area to area .... but, on that particular day we were running our jigs in the 10-12ft depth range & fishing in the 15-20fow depths. Areas without many Shad schools produced mostly dinks, but those with a concentration of Shad schools were producing fairly equal numbers of keepers & dinks.

Water was about 1ft over pool & temps were 81-83deg ... water color was normal to slightly clearer than normal.

Keepers are 9" & above, so I set a self imposed limit of 10" & above for fish that went into the livewell. The other 80 "keepers" were returned to the water along with the hundred or so "dinks" that were caught. Slabeye doesn't keep fish, just a record of how many keepers are caught, and I had intentions of only keeping a dozen or so, but lost count of the number in the livewell.

That's an awesome day! I do the same with the size limit, 10 or better.

Like pappy said I don't keep fish. I probably keep less than 30 a year. So the limits don't affect me but some of the people go with me keep some and pretty much all of them only keep 10" or better fish. I wish they had of raised the size limit to 10" and left the daily limit at 30. I would like to see what that would do for the size in a year or 2.
