Need some experienced crappie fishermen to explain this to me pls.

Was fishing a larger farm pond yesterday, 4 acres with depths of 30ft pls. We catch black crappie of all sizes in there ranging from 6 inches to 2 lbs. Stunting isn't a problem. Its a great crappie pond. This was the first opportunity Ive had to fish it this year and many of the crappie I cleaned still had eggs in them......... I thought the crappie spawn was over by this point, I know we had a crazy weather winter but its almost june. What is going on?
