I use 14's and you have to have long arms to get to em with a net. Just swing em in if need be but they come at ya fast.
Sorry if I confused you. I didn't mean to imply "casting" with the baitcaster reels, just that with the ones with a thumb bar release you can lower the fish down (one handed) to where you can grab it or net it ... and do it easier than with a spinning reel or the reels you are using.
You have to figure it out fast down there because when you get into them you could have all poles down at once. I guess the number of crappie at green is what I'm referring to. Last spring, 2 guys, over 500 fish caught in a day and a half. But the keeper to dink ratio is usually 1 to 4 for me. Lots of measuring.
hey guys i actually caught fish today, 11 to be exact only 2 keepers but i had a blast. thanks to everone who has helped me and special thanks to slabkeeperq11 for the phone call info really helped. i even ran into a guy there that was spider rigging and he showed me some spots i am alread looking forward to next trip i am getting there
