Bad time to lose a coach. Wonder if his recruits will transfer to Minnesota with him. How many kids will rescind their signing letters. You know they can, if the coach that recruited them leaves before they get there. Like i said, BAD TIME TO LOSE A COACH. I dont care what team it is.

I couldn't be happier!!!! I'm willing to sacrifice a couple rough years if we can find a coach that can recruit some better talent. Tubby was a pretty good coach, but he really struggled recruiting and isn't an "elite" coach. I think he will do a good job for Minnesota, but wasn't the ticket for a program like Kentucky.

There is never a bad time to loose a coach that isn't getting the job done! Tubby has taken the winningest program in the NCAA & reduced it to Midmajor level. I am 49 years old and I can never remember UK being ranked in the 40's. NEVER! If some of the recrutes follow him... so be it. If they arn't any better than what he's been getting let them go. I don't think they will though. Recrutes aren't coming to UK because Tubby is there anyway. They come because of the history & tradition and they know they will get national TV exposure. :D

i heard someone on the monday night call in show several weeks ago make this statement. Rich Brooks took a volkswagon with no wheels nor an engine and turned it into a chevy four door sedan. Tubby Smith took a corvette and turned it into a volkswagon. He is a great coach, not a great recruiter, we all saw what he did with teams that had players not recruited by him, i.e. his first and only national championship withing 1 year of being hired. As a person who has worked on UK's campus for 17 years, there was an extra spring in everyones step yesterday. The question now, who will replace him?

all is right with the world today so long Tubby not that he was a bad coach just not good enough u know. he won one championship with Pitino's team and i think that helped him to stay around longer than he would have. i say pay Pitino a king's ransom to get him back whatever it takes. i still say Tubby wasn't much of a recruiter to let Lofton leave the state and go to Tennessee..
