Sounds like you may need to go to a 36 volt / 112# thrust possibly. My 24 volt 80# will push my 1652 tin boat into the wind for about 6-7 hours. It's a lot lighter boat than yours, I'm sure. Course you probably already considered this, just throwing it out there.
