    Default Hybrids on rough river

I know this is a crappie site but thought I would share my family fishin trip at rough. We come every year but it had been several years since we had much luck so we was due. Catching quite a bit of fish in the jumps the past few days and we have several days left.

I see you're using the "plunker & fly" approach to the jumps !! Very effective method. If you have an "Silver Buddy" blade baits (and especially if they're the ones painted white) ... you might want to give those a try, too !!

    Luck2ya'll !!

And thanks for the report & pics. We concentrate on Crappie, but family fishing fun is the backbone of this site .... regardless of the species being caught.

Oh, and to the site !! Hope to see more reports/pics of your fishing adventures.

Those are a blast to catch when they are aggressive, I'll put the jig pole up to get them in the jumps.

For sure my favorite type of fishing when they r in the jumps it's like a party on the water make u feel like a boy again every time if u catch em when the water is boiling. Been several years since we had a year like this year tho the weather and water temp was about perfect this time. If ur on the water and you see the water boiling u might as well try and catch them u will never be the same. Oh and they are just fine to eat just cut the red meat outta the bigger fish anything over 14in needs trimming and you can always soak them in lemon juice over night but they taste fine either way.

By far my favorite fish to eat and catch. I haven't gotten into them in many years. I have never been able to catch them jumping but I have caught a ton drift fishing in the fall and below spillways.
