    Default At last

After being off the lake and out of commission for three months I was worried I'd lost my touch. The Dr finally gave me the OK to fish but can't drive and definitely no big fish. My ole fishin buddy Mickey and I choose yesterday to give my new pig valve a good work out. I tried that recipe I saw on Ky Afield for "Bubble Gum Catfish Bait" an we took twenty jugs to soak while we hit a few brush piles for some crappie. That catfish bait works better than a farm boy cuttin backer on a hot day. On twenty jugs we managed five channels, four blues, lost three at the boat, and had two throw backs. We kept seven crappie over ten inches with a lot of dinks. We fished just short of four hours before I knew it was time to call it a day. Just in case my Dr or my wife are stalking me on here, my buddy Mickey netted them big blues while I held the jug. Good to know I still got it.

Good to see you back out and at it, Russ. Don't push the issue with the heat. You know as we get older, the seasons come at us much faster. Fall weather will be here before you know it.

That's awesome. Had to feel good getting back on the water. I seen that episode of ky afield, may have to try that bait when run trot lines on green river later in summer.

It sure worked well for us. Word of warning, wear rubber gloves.
