He called them Arkansas Blacknose. And when I did finally get around to doing some online research about them, the first thing I found was that they were found as a naturally occurring fish in one part of the White River in Arkansas, and many thought that was the first place they were found. Later research showed them to be a naturally occurring fish in at least 13 different states ... and some even claimed as many as 22 states ... and research showed the earliest they had been discovered was in Ohio in 1957. So, maybe they "should" have been known as Buckeye Blacknose


As an Ohio native I will now refer to them as Buckeye Blacknose crappie!
