I "have" fished it, off & on, since it was impounded. I've just never fished it this time of year, nor have I done much good there in the last few trips. The last of those trips was several years ago.

The Crappie are certainly bigger nowadays, than what I've caught in the past. I caught most of mine on jigs/plastics or Roadrunners, but most reports I've heard have been about using minnows (day or night). I've just done better at Taylorsville, so I haven't spent much time at Cedar Creek over the last decade. From where I am in Lex., it's not much more drive time to get to Taylorsville, so I just don't go to Cedar Creek often enough to keep up with the pattern changes down there.

I do know that Cedar Creek now has White Crappie, and their numbers do seem to be growing. And there's Blacknose Black Crappie in the lake, as well, to go along with the Black Crappie population from the initial stockings. Stocker Rainbow Trout are also periodically added to the lake.

Ive not had much luck at all at cedar until water temps come up closer to 55-60 . They are around 40 right now.

I fish Cedar a lot but have to agree that I have NOT done well until the water temps get to 50degrees

Guess that explains something. I have been a maybe 4-5 times over the last 3-5 years and never done much down there on crappie. Have picked upa few bass when out randomly. But water temps have always been in the 40's when I have been there. And there was that one time when the boat just wouldn't start so put it back on the trailer and went back home. (Got a new boat shortly there after...) But guess I need to hit a day when the water temps are up a bit more. I am like someone else though, the lack of success down there and from Lexington almost the same time to putting in at Taylorsville is just where I tend to head.
