My wife had something similar, but not so severe. There are "stones" in the inner ear that can really mess you up if they get in the wrong place ..... being that there are several canals, and the stones in any of the canals can be causing the problem, totally correcting the problem can be very complicated.
We got lucky and got her to a physical therapist who specialized in correcting this. By moving her around in different positions he was able to tell which inner ear canal was affected....and therefore, which specific series of movements were required to resolve the problem. She had to do 3 sessions and was 80% better after the first.
Bottom line.... if you doesn't resolve itself 100% .... try to find someone who specializes in this and knows what they are doing ..... It is very complex to get this right.
