7/2 Taylorsville lake fishing report
Started fishing @ 6 am this morning cool air temps water temps 84 degrees per electronics calm wind with stained water launching out of settlers trace folks the bite is subdued we started by fishing 8 poles spider rigged at depth from 8ft to 18 ft fished several flats ledges , pointes finally found fish in mouth of creeks on under water brush piles suspended at 17 ft decent numbers showing fished with tuxedo/chartrues mr crappie joker rock port rattler black jig heads tipped with minnows and chartrues rock port rattler heads tipped with minnows caught 21 short fish and 2 9 inch fish tried switching jigs and fishing strictly minnow Riggs with no better results with 2 hours left and boat traffic beginning to increase we headed to the deeper channels of the lake putting 4 rods out the back and 2 out each side pulling 200 & 300 crankbaits in chartrues , midnight , orange crush , bluegrass, fire tiger, yellow perch color we began almost immediately picking up fish catching three 9 inch fish on the midnight special color cranks switched out some of the others to this color ended up our day due to lake traffic with 8 keepers 6 10" fish and 1 11" and 1 12" folks this weekend either fish very very early or wait out the weekend the traffic is overwhelming and needing to cover lake to find scattered fish is not a good combo on this lake hope this report helps
