    Default Need some help please

I am a disabled veteran looking for a farm pond to fish in for crappie. Due to my injury I do not feel comfortable being on boats lake fishing anymore and pond fishing is the best option for me. Does anyone know an owner of a pond that would allow me to come fish theirs , I will gladly follow any rules or regulations they ask of me. I do not mind driving anywhere in Kentucky. If you can help me out please send me a private message.

    Than you so very much

Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife offers a program called FINS (Fishing In Neighborhoods). This is a list of the lakes and planned stocking dates.

I didn't see that any of these lakes stock crappie, just bluegill catfish trout and bass. Do you know if any of them hold crappie?

Jacobson Park Lake, here in Lexington, "has" Crappie in it ... but, like most of the rest of those lakes, they're not stocked. Even those that are in Jacobson are just escapees from Lake Ellerslie via the tunnel under Richmond Road.

I have caught Crappie from Jacobson, in the Spring, and seen several others catching them ... but, last time I even fished for them there was last year.

The lake at the KY Horse Park has recently been added to the FINs lakes. The 6 acre lake is open to the public, and you do not have to pay an entry fee to the park in order to fish it. I have not been to, nor fished, the Horse Park lake. And I would assume that it is periodically stocked with catfish, trout, & hybrid bluegill, as are many of the other FINs lakes.

You might give the KDFWR a call, and ask them if any of their Salato Wildlife Center lakes are stocked with Crappie : Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Fishing Lakes

    Where at in KY?

I've asked here before with no response, but I was born in a neighborhood near Corbin which had an amazing pond for Crappie. I've got my father's biggest Crappie ever caught on the wall a few feet from me right now. It was from 1978, but that pond was once notorious for huge numbers of Crappie.

It was Tattersal pond on the outskirts of Corbin. It's a neighborhood pond. No idea what it's like now. You go out Falls Rd. (I think that's the name) from Corbin a few miles and take a right to go to Tattersal subdivision.
