    Prayer Request Ranger 188

I'm thinking about purchasing the 188 Ranger but like some feed back from this group in regards to the way it rides, handles in rough water, and wind. also how stable when moving from side to side. I'm looking at it being powered by a 4 stroke 115hp, so I also wander how well it runs out on top in, and the millage of a 4 stroke, and thanks for any and all feed back.

I bought the Ranger 188C (crappie version) last year and absolutely love it. Prior to this boat, my last three boats were all Ranger glass boats with big motors, but opted (as age keeps creeping up on me) to go with the lighter aluminum version this time. I powered it with the Mercury 115 Fourstroke. It will run nearly 50 mph with just me in it which is slower than the 70+ mph my last big Ranger would run, but still plenty fast for me. As for fuel consumption, I can fish for days on a tank of gas. This new Fourstroke is the easiest thing I've seen on fuel. The layout of the boat is great and with it's wide Ranger deck offers plenty of room for spiderrigging or pulling cranks. The hull design is comparable to the glass model in ride and manuverability. I've had it in some pretty rough water on Lake Cumberland with no complaints. I looked and looked and compared the boat with other comparable aluminum brands and models before purchase, and am totally sold on the Ranger 188. I highly recommend it!
