OK, after some debate and a decent report from a friend, I decided to stick with what is familiar and took my middle son to Cumberland. Fished fishing creek (along with most everyone else in the state it seemed) and for the most part struggled. It was just one of those days. Losing a lot of fish in the brush. Lost my Costa sunglasses in the lake. Lost 2 good crankbaits I just ordered, had some packs of bobby garlands fly out of the boat. LOL. It was like amateur hour in my boat all day.

Anyway, what we did find was much deeper than it was previously. Caught our fish in 15-20 in heavy timber. Some on minnows, some on jigs tipped with minnows. Only brought home 5. Lost that many more keepers and caught maybe 5 shorts.

Anybody heard anything of why the lake is so low? Seems like it is really getting a late start at rising it this year. I think we have a good chance of them rising it during the spawn which may hurt one or several species of spawn this year.
