Just got home from Malcolm Creek. Been there since Wednesday afternoon and didn't catch much. Couldn't really fish much due to the weather with dad. I definitely was not prepared for the lake level as we always come down beginning to mid April.

Fished Kenlake the last couple of days. Caught a lot of crappie, most were about 5 inches long. Caught just a few keepers. Quite a bit of wind the first day but it calmed down yesterday afternoon. Fished between 15-24 feet deep. May have been the reason why I didn't do better as fish might have been suspended over the tops of brushpiles. Even tried to catch some big bluegills deep. Didn't do any good with them either.
Crappie fishermen I spoke with seemed to be struggling too. They have been catching some bass though. Water level is still real low around winter pool and still has some color to it (west side). Hopefully the fish will move in as they bring the lake up and water continues to warm up. Doesn't seem to be as much cover in the lake as it used to be.
I was single pole fishing and saw a few people tight lining so they may have done better. Wish I had something more encouraging to report.

I wish you could add a picture. The report was a good one. I would like to enter you in the contest for the Bobby Garland baits, but a picture is required. See the sticky. "D"

Let me know how I can send a picture from my iPhone and I'll give it a try. Took a picture of a crappie that weighed 2.02 but figured you would have plenty of posts better than it. An added bonus is all you can see is my hand when I was holding it up.![]()
Chaunc, thanks for the tip. I used to fish Anderson a lot many years ago. It's been several years since I worked the banks casting jigs w/curly tails and roadrunners. Is that how you fished it or were you spider rigging or tight lining. Just had the few crappie I caught from my trip. EXCELLENT! It's good to be a crappie fisherman.

I download mine to my pc then upload. I don't have an iphone. I have android. But there are some instructions in the photo forum on the main page. I'll see what I can find. Also, the contest is random to all who meet the criteria. You got as good a chance as everyone else in the contest.
