I have fished it a few times for trout and walleye. It is supposed to be a pretty good small mouth lake as well. I, however, have never seen a crappie taken out of it. The KDFW claims that the crappie fishing is poor, but I believe they have tried to remedy that through stocking. The walleye and trout fishing are probably the best in the state (apart from trout fishing on the Cumberland River).

    Hope this helps

I work at grove marina and I fish the dock a lot and have caught some very nice crappie. I haven't really tried to crappie fish out on the lake very much. But I would go over by the dan and fish between it and the visitors center there is two docks and there is pine trees and sycamores all over the bottom or I would go up past the second shoals in the river and fish on the left. I hope this spring I will be able to crappie fish the lake alot I think Laurel could be a prime place for crappie but no one fish's for them and the ones that do don;t spread the word.
