I had a friend send a picture of a few nice slabs he'd caught over the weekend on minnows and it got me thinking. I left the trolling poles and crankbaits at the house and grabbed the minnow bucket an tied on the ole faithful double minnow rig. At around 7:00am I headed north till we ran out of water. We hit every brush pile and standing timber area I thought would surrender a few slabs at summer pool an warm water. We'd get six to eight fish off each and they'd get spooky and disappear. We finally ran out of bait a little after noon and decided to call it. Been awhile since I'd seen 78 degree water and that many in the cooler. Awesome day Name: slab.jpg
