Default Trying Green River Lake Again

Gonna try Green River Lake again tomorrow. Just wondered if anybody has any report on water conditions, thermocline, and fishing there? Never hurts to ask. I know some of you guys fish the lake regularly. I will file a report once I make the trip.

Fishman .... yes, Crappie are being caught at Green. From what I know, cranks & jigs are the main tools being used. Lake is only 7inches over Pool and fairly stable for the last few weeks.

According to this COE website : Louisville District > Missions > Civil Works > Water Information > Updated Lake Temperatures and Dissolved Oxygen Lev > Green Profile ......... you're thermocline depth is around 15ft. with water temps at 81deg from surface down to 15ft. Dissolved Oxygen levels are excellent down to 15ft (7mg/L) and almost non-existant at 20ft with only 0.47mg/L (temps & D.Oxy. readings taken at dam).

We'd greatly appreciate you posting a report on how you do, what you used (baits) and how you fished (method) ... but, leave out the "where" you fished, except for general area info if you want to include it. And if you take pictures, use the boat or sky as background for your shots, so as not to allow the surrounding shoreline to give away your position on the lake. We share info amongst members, not internet trolls & meathogs that cruise websites looking for people's hotspots or successful fishing areas.

Hope to see you at this years Fall Brawl @ Green. We're in the process of setting up a date and getting the picnic pavilion rented for this event, so stay tuned for further info.

Thanks, CP. I love fishing GR Lake. I'm always glad to share info from my trips (what I catch and how)....and I understand about being careful about giving too much detail. I will keep an eye out for more info about the Fall gathering. I've not attended one of those yet, either here or down on Kentucky Lake when I lived there. But....I'll be retiring before too long and plan to get a lot more active in things, especially fishing as much as I can.
