I fished north Barkley yesterday, managed to catch 11 keepers and about the same yellow belly stripes on electric shad Bobby Garland Jigs and some on minnows

Hey this is my first year trying crappie fishing. I've learned a lot from some co workers but I've also got some very good info on basic set up and what to look for. I'm still learning but I'm enjoying every minute being out chasin em!!

Slab, Yes the walk of shame. Could not find any fish. Day before marked and caught some very good fish. Tournament time as usual no fish in those spots. Very frustrating especially when someone comes in with 40 fish. That kind of hurts. No, really hurts. LOL I dreaded going to the weigh in but as in everything fishing I try to keep learning and sharing ideas. That is what crappie.com is all about to me by the way!!!!!!

no point following that PURPLE boat where it goes there's no fish left behind, unless they fall out of the BEAST. If you see it might as well go the other way.

    I am that guy...sort of.

I will come to your lake once a year (every April) and fish as much as I can for 3 days. I have been a lurker since around December 2013 but didn't join until a few weeks ago. I fish a minnow under a bobber 90% of the time because usually it gives time to relax, eat sandwiches, and generally bullcrap with who ever else is in the boat.

With that being said I am also that guy that if I want to fish a spot and someone is there I stay at least 100 to 200' away. If someone is trolling down a bank and I want to fish a spot on it I make sure they are not going to spin back around and refish it and I only approach it from behind their boat so they don't have to go around me.

If you think the Kentucky forum is dead try the Indiana one. I posted last week asking if anyone fished a lake and it was like the night before Christmas (not even a mouse)

So if you see a 21' pontoon running at the breakneck speed of 10mph with the occupants eating sandwiches and making fun of each other come and say hi cause I may only hit Kentucky Lake once this year by God I am going to use my property at Nolin and fish Taylorsville because it's as close as Hardy lake is (I live 5 minutes Louisville in Indiana)

I guess it's kinda that Golden Rule thing. I wouldn't want someone to fish on top of me or block my path I'm fishing.

BTW what's the fishing usually like around mid april in those coves on the LBL side up by Moor's. Is it worth venturing over there?

Yes, there can be some really good action on crappie, gills and redears on the LBL side in the area you mentioned. Watch out for a red Lund with PA registration though, he is suspected of running a seine line at times.

Fished a day in Big Sandy last week where wind was under 5 all day. Counted under 10 boats. If that doesn't tell you anything about the fishing I don't know what does.
