    Default Lucky winners!

This fine looking couple hit the jackpot at the Kentucky Crappie.com shindig! They won this free trip to head to Rend Lake with Scott Smith with Crappie Xtreme guide service. Well today was the day. Good day Scottie. Thought I'd share. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415493357.275506.jpg

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Trip was given away and I did not do a background check on them before they gave it away. Matter of fact. I just stood back, watched and had a good time talking to fellow crappie fisherman like I do every year. If you would like some restructuring of the shindig how bout we start another thread and make our points there instead of tarnishing one of the sponsors of the event that gave the trip away. I understand what you are getting at but this will go nowhere unless someone steps up and changes it. I also am more than willing to help in that group effort and I know others that would too.

I agree. There was a jar that someone put out and ppl started putting names in it. Then tickets was passed out. I think where it was kinda spread out this year it didn't go as smooth as in the past but I had a great time as always and if I just came for the door prizes I'd for sure go in the hole. It's about the fellowship! I hope they enjoyed the trip as the picture looked like they did.

I made up a bucket for members to put their real name and screen names in as well. I guess a decision was made to not use that method and just let anybody who chose to walk up put their name in be eligible for the draw. This has been a sore point with me because we bust our butts to get sponsors to donate to this event. I had one of our major sponsors make me promise last year that there would only be Crappie.com members in on the draw before he would contribute. When it was opened to anybody and everybody, I was essentially made out to be a liar for having made the promise.

There was a thread immediately after this event from a donor who was wondering why he was not receiving any feedback about the items he donated. The reason might be becuase the items he donated were won by somebody who never even heard of Crappie.com. The donors do so out of support for this site and those who frequent it. Feedback is their way of knowing the item is being used and how the user perceives the item. No feedback--no more donations.

I have asked Crappie.com members from other states how their events are run, how prizes are given out and what % of those attending are Crappie.com members and their immediate families. When I hear back that well over 90% of those attending are members, it makes me think we might consider doing something different. I want to use that event to meet new members and visit with old friends. If the prizes are given out using that person's real name and screen name, we all get to put a face with a name and possibly make a new friend.

I appreciate the sponsor who donated this trip and would never say or do anything to make that person think otherwise.
