Benton area covers a lot of territory from the dam to Eggners Ferry bridge. I would start out casting slip bobbers along the pea gravel/sandy shoreline in bays with a red worm or cricket till you find some bluegill beds. If you have side scan, they will show up on that. Once you find some active beds, pull back away from the banks and cast for redears in 4-6 feet of water. If your boat is set up for trolling, I would throw out some curly-tail bodies on 1/8 oz jigheads and troll those in areas near main creek points or main lake banks for crappie. The west (Benton) side of the lake is going to be much more crowded than the east (LBL) side. Watch out for floating debris since the lake has jumped up the last couple of days because of rain south of us.
Good luck and enjoy your stay.
