It would stand to reason if the Cumberland below Barkley Dam and Tennessee below KY Dam are full of them, so would the Ohio be as far as they could go up or downstream since they are all connected.

Early last Friday morning I had no more got started fishing in the White Oak slough (Meldahl pool tributary of the Ohio river), when 2 guys approached me in a big center console aluminum boat. I could see right off that one of them was dressed in what looked like game warden clothing. As they came upon on me he said they were going to trap me in the slough (It's like a big bay off the main channel of the creek) and he further expalined they were doing a asian carp study and had done one in there the day before also.
They proceeded to put a net across the mouth of the slough and 3 more across the slough at different intervals. They told me they had caught a 30lber the day before doing the same thing. I ended up leaving after watching them for a while. They caught numerous gar, drum and regular carp while I was there. The place was ate up with big gar that morning. I don't know if they found any in there that day or not. The guy with the gamewarden (looked like a commercial fishering outfit) told me you go 2 pools down and load the boat with them. I have never saw any that I could positively identify. Curious if any of you have saw any in this stretch of the river?
Sure hate the thought of dealing with these in the future and the effect of them on our native species.

My work buddies are bow fishing the Asian carp at the foot of Broadway in Paducah...shooting 40-50lbers...
The Ohio and the Tennesse connect right there...
Asian carp are methodically ruining our fisheries...

Off subject but I shot this one Saturday in a West Tn oxbow. 4' long #60.![]()
I have seen them around Moscow. Kycreekboy, what is the river like now after all of the rain? Any crappie still biting in the creeks? I fish around Augusta area.
Bassky
There are definitely here in the Louisville area
These fish can grow to over 5' long and weight more than 100lbs,,there are all the way up in Indiana now from the Wabash River which connects to the Ohio. Any stream or river that connects to the Wabash is now infiltrated with them. Just a matter of time before our river fishing goes to heck in a hat basket cause of these carp.
Y'all's fishing is defiantly about to go down. 5 years or so ago I could go to several places within an hour of my house and catch a mess of fish. Now if I catch 3 , and sometimes1, I'm lucky. They eat what shad eat, so figure what an average #15 carp can eat vs a 2oz shad.
