Fall Creek I couldn't pull off the pm this time so I'll just hang it out here. On lake at 7:30 am went above mouth of Fishing Creek, two of us. Caught 3 keepers. (my friend went there yesterday and caught one) Twenty feet 1/32 oz. slooow.... Went up in Fishing Creek. trolled, one large White Perch. Fished Little Clifty. Skunked, but I don't feel good about how I fished it.
12:30 back out on main lake , trolled 1/2 way to Mill Springs nothing. Getting hot. My brain is frying. went in a deep cove around Mill Springs caught 9 keepers 1/2 were in 30 ft. of water. Went to another cove caught 4 in 30 ft. h2o. Quit around 5 pm Had 16 but 10 hours in the sun is why I'm addled and couldn't figure out how to send that pm. All caught on jigs, always jigs

Thanks a bunch Fair Weather. I wouldn't have wanted to be in those temps that long yesterday. Understand why you were beat. Water is really clear and warm. I'm considering some night fishing under lights. Will follow up if I do.

My fishing buddy and I have caught 4, 11 and 8 keepers since my last report. They are deeper and not in the sycamores but beside them. We always quit before noon. We used the same technique mentioned in my previous posts.
My minnow fishing friends are catching more tham me.
I'm not catching any walleye trolling, but in the years before I had by this time of year. I think its because the thermocline has not formed yet.
But someone has been catching walleye because we saw where they had cleaned them at Waitsboro. Does anyone know how?
I'll keep you posted on what I know and I'm

Fished this am, 7:30-11:30 My friend and I went straight to our "honey hole". nothing, not even a bite. Tried two other places that had been productive, nothing. Another cove, one bite. We're discouraged, decided the crappie bite was over and will troll for walleye next time we go. Will try one more cove. Caught 13, three were 13" rest were 11" and 12" Confused Why were the other places dead? But this one hotter than ever been. Tried two more places-nothing, so we quit.
Tried the 1" Berkley Gulp! minnow for the 1st time. Both the crappie and the bluegill ate it up, but it needs to be rigged on a very small jig like 1/64. We caught several 8" bluegill today and have been routinely, while targeting crappie.
They were and have been, hitting the 1 1/2" bass assasin and the short ice fishing jigs.
We fished between Waitsboro and the mouth of White Oak, main lake, and fished 25' deep, at least.
For you fishermen coming for the 4th, ask others about using live minnows and night fishing. I'm clueless. and I haven't caught a walleye this year.
have fun and be safe

Fished today after dark around a boat dock in 27 ft used a green light and caught a few nice ones very close to the bottom
if there is a way to catch them during the day I haven't found it.
