Went over the holiday weekend and stayed at the State Park camp ground. It was a nice campground, very crowded but to be expected. Lots of activities, the state employees and county sheriff patrols did a great job keeping everyone "sane" Even the UK boys didn't pick on my Duke hat to much LOL. We shot docks on Friday and caught several small crappie 8 to 9 inches (kept 10 for Friday night dinner and two catfish) Saturday we pulled crank baits and caught two crappie pulled mostly around the island in front of the state campground, but managed to circle the island. Sunday we switched to the tried and true method of spider rigging with minnows, we doubled rigged 6 rods cause the ladies wanted to try their hands at it They caught 50+ fish and we kept 30 for the night fish fry, needless to say everything was going great until Mr. catfish decided to hit a 14' B&M crappie rod! Well she landed it and managed only to tangle up 3 other lines, actually she did a tremendous job The only downside to the entire trip was the lack of boating eidetic by a few of the pontoons that came with 20 fee of our boat, actually I thought he was going to hit my rod tips!. Overall Green River Lake is a good place to catch a lot of fish and that is what kept the "new" fishermen and fisher ladies excited about our sport. We will certainly be back to Green soon
