Then when I pick up my buddy Jerry at the dock, I had to stop and think about the wind and dock position. I'll get used to it. The best part is when you start fishing its not a birds nest of rods and lines to untangle before you fish, and when your ready to make a move, drop them in the slot and pull the bungy cord over them and your ready to roll. That was the best part.
I know what you mean about having to get used to doing things a little different, after adding things on the boat. I have to be a little more careful when getting into/out of the boat when launching/trailering ... when I have the rod holder attached (and launching/trailering by myself).

My longest poles are 10' 2pc & my longest 1pc rods are 7' ... so I've got rod socks for all of them, and put them in the rod locker. Rod locker locks, so I can keep them out of sight & secure when I'm traveling or in a dock slip, or when I'm not using all of them. But I certainly understand where you guys with 14-20ft rods are coming from, about tangled messes when spot jumping a lot ... I've fished with Chucky often enough to have experienced a little of that
