Well, I guess I should pay more attention to the lake conditions. rnvinc and I were going out this AM to test out some modifications to some planer boards. We decided to put in at Little Bear, hoping the wind would be more west than SW. WRONG!! We pulled up to the ramp and couldn't find the ramp for all the floating crap that had blown onto the ramp with the high water. That's another thing! I should have checked the lake level. It had been to almost 361 the day before and was dropping back to 360---above summer pool. Water temps had dropped from 68 a couple of days ago to 62.5. High water, falling water, cooling water, rough water. Take your pick.

To say it wasn't our day would be an understatement. We did get to soak some of the boards and pull a couple of longlines. One green carp and that was it. Back on the trailer after a couple of hours.

Some days you get the bear and some days he gets you.

That's funny. I believe the big bear got you at little bear. That is a mean ramp in good conditions. I have had to beach my boat in the neighbors yard to get some where out of those rollers just to get back on the trailer. Hope you at least got your boards setup. I can't find the wood ones I made years ago but I think they are easy to make. I fished this morning and it wasn't happening. Managed a few and got tired of the wind and pollen smacking my eyeballs. This dadburn weather will not settle down and it is driving me nuts. Get a pattern and then it changes in 1 day. At least we aren't having a lot of water this year. They just shut all the gates about an hour ago on Ky. dam. They just upgraded the 7 day wind on http://windalert.com/spot/87360 and it does not look very good. Break out the windsock and let it happen.

Got out this morning myself. Wind wasn't too bad at daybreak and manageable til about 8:30. Saved some areas for that hard west southwest wind for later in the a.m.

Bite was very light today or was it the rough surf conditions, wind blowing my jig rod around and the trolling motor crying for mercy!!

Managed a mess of fish and some blow down time before going back to work tomorrow. Talent comes in handy when loading the boat in a crosswind with a 3 foot chop! Those blustery winter winds during duck season allows loading practice for spring fishing!

If you venture out be careful...

Not to worry, I will be there the 10th and make the wind stop, I hope.
