    Default Cave Run 3/15/2014

Made it out yesterday for the first time this year.Fished the Bangor and Popin Rock area at the upper end of the lake. Water temp was 44* the water was murky and about 3' above summer pool. We caught around 100 fish most were small we kept 40 that were 9 1/2 to 13 1/2. Most were caught on 1/16oz. jigs with 1 1/2"white curly tail grubs tipped with minnows and trolled about 15' deep over submerged timber along the creek channel. Use extreme Caution if you don't know this part of the lake lots of stumps that are just under the surface.

The southeast end of the lake there are ramps at Bangor and Popin rock. You must have a parking pass to use the Popin rock ramp.

You only need a parking pass at Alfrey, Claylick, Poppin Rock, Longbow, Scott Creek, & Warix. (according to the USDA website)
You can get the passes here : http://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/db...558&width=full

I mostly used the Twin Knobs ramp ... no pass needed. I think I've only launched at Scott Creek a couple of times, and my fishing partner took care of the parking pass purchase ... so I'm not sure if he got it at the Marina or across the street at Lakeview Motel

You can get parking passes at all bait shops or at the forestry office on week days. it is located just pass the dam on Ky.801. You can get senior, disabled and veteran passes for 15.00 but these must be purchased at the forestry office.
