We're still two months away from the earliest tourney date, but we still need to finalize at least the first two tourney dates/lakes ... and get a Weigh Master chosen.
Chucky has all but "volunteered" to be the Weigh Master, and I have no objections to that. Do we need to run a voting poll for this position, or is everyone OK with Chucky being the Weigh Master ?
mar 15 Kentucky Lake
Mar 29 Cumberland
Seems like these dates/lakes are the more popular choices ... so let's start with them & pick weigh-in sites.

I'm looking to start fishing tournaments; that being said I'm new to all this and was wondering if this was a good tourney to get my feet wet in. I normally only fish Taylorsville but plan on going as far as green or barren.

Im good with those date and with Chucky. I agree we need to set location so people can get rooms if they want.

KSC ... I see no reason that these tourneys wouldn't be a good "start". Our rules are a modified version of the CUSA rules, & our entry fee is only $30/boat & $10/boat Big Fish. Here's where you can check out our final decision on all the rules : http://www.crappie.com/crappie/showt...al-Draft/page2
And we will be having tourneys on Green, Barren, and Taylorsville ... after we do the KY/Barkley & Cumberland tourneys.
You'll also have to attend our Spring Fling at Green on April 12th @ Holmes Bend Marina. It's not so much a tourney, as it is a get together ... where everyone goes out & fishes, & then we fry up the catch and have a big fish fry meal. We usually have some door prizes to give away to all that attend. We let everyone attending volunteer to bring side dishes &/or items we need for food preparation, or even some prizes to give away ... but, that's on a voluntary basis, & not mandatory in order to attend these events.

i am ok with chucky being the weigh master. on the weigh in sites are we going to vote on this thread or are you going to make another one for it.
I'm good with Chucky and like the pumpkin creek ramp at the state park on cumberland
i like alligator #1
.... guys, what we need is a centrally located ramp, in the area of the lake that is most likely to be the prime area for that time of year. Remember ... you can "launch" from any ramp on the lake, if you've pre-paid your entry fees. You just have to be at the "weigh-in ramp" in time to meet the deadline for weighing in your fish. Whether you get there by boat or vehicle is up to you.
It would also be nice if the ramp was easy to get to, and had some area that was close to the ramp where we could set up our weigh-in site ... and not have to transport our fish a long walk from boat to scales. Plus, it would be nice if there were cabins nearby ... for those that intend to make a 2-3 day weekend out of the trip.

Conley Bottom is probably central and has cabins. The best fishing early is in the river according to fish and wildlife. But it doesn't matter to me. I just need to know the date and location of Kentucky Lake as soon as possible, so I can get off work and reserve a room.
