The carpet in my old bass boat is getting in pretty rough shape. Bad enough that ill have to do something about it this season. I'm not talented with cutting carpet corners and it just kills me to hafta pay someone several hundred bucks to install carpet for me. I'm heavily considering using a marine grade roll on bedliner specifically the durabak product. It's supposedly got uv inhibitors to keep it from fading and the grit is some kind of a processed rubber. The coast guard and navy have approved it for use as a non skid coating for wet areas so I'd think it'd shed fish slime like a champ. Has anyone on here ever used this product, or any bedliner type coating on their boat? Opinions on doing so? Here's a couple pics of the durabak![]()

Thanks CP. I shouldn't have double posted but I put it here first then decided I'd get more opinions in the main forum. Feel free to delete this thread if needed

Don't do it. I had bedliner in my boat that I spent the better part of the spring and summer removing. It was hot in the summer, cold in the winter, rough, and held dirt. The dog hated it. My wife hated it. It eats up the handles on your rods and scuffs up your reels. And it makes the boat noisier.
I would do carpet in a bass style boat. Not sure if http://www.hydroturf.com/ is the best thing in a fiberglass boat. Hydroturf is what I used and have been very pleased. Not hard at all. I used a big roll of news print as a pattern for the more difficult places. Cut it with kitchen shears and glued it down with contact cement.
