    Default Help ease my mind

I'm wanting to put a new trolling motor on the front of my boat but worried that the hard cable will get in the way. I have a 1989 Tracker Panfish Pro that has a front deck with storage in it and am concerned that the cable won't allow me to use the foot control the way I'd like or imagine in my minds eye. I'd like to put a bow mount foot controlled unit in and sell my hand controlled but just can't pull the trigger till I know for sure. Any body out there seen a setup that would help?

Slabseeker bite the bullet and get a Terrova. I have a stick steer and it had a cable steer. Hated it. Couldn't get the pedal anywhere with the cable that was comfortable to operate. Even a PDv2 would be better.

I agree with cray and I love my MG cable steer. The MK would just be a better option with your set up. Don't show your wife the price.

You Gould get a PDv2 with just the pedal for just about the same money as a cable steer. Then add I Pilot later. If nothing else I would mount the hand control on your left get one of those clamp on steering handles used for bass fishermen standing up. Mount it where it would be comfortable to run where you are sitting. From my experience I know you would hate the cable steer in your setup.

Let me check with my wife............she's still laughing. Well I may get a Bigfoot but it won't solve the problem totally. Anybody wanna buy my old motor? $1200.00 and this beauty can be all yours.

Its looking more and more like the Power Drive 50 will be my choice. Can someone tell me about the Deploy-assist lever? Do you stiil lift the motor out of the water and lower it by hand? Can't see a rope.
