This is just my suggestions on some of the listed rules.

    15. If there is enough teams to entered a tournament, then have a 1st and 2nd place big fish. (just trying to spread the wealth)

    16. Instead of a flip of the coin, if there is a tie, split the pot between them for that place. I know CUAS has it listed but they have never done it, as far as i know. They have always split the pot.

    Maybe a couple to add.

    22. All protest will be decided by the weighmaster and results will be final.
    23. Payouts will be based on the number of boats entered. This one may need to be put to a vote. I suggest a check for every 4 or 5 boats.
    24. Entry fee for each tournament. May need to vote on this as well. I suggest $30-40.

Everything else looks fine to me.

How about on rule #16 the tiebreaker is broke by the team who has the biggest fish?
All others look good to me.

Pappy, may want to also look at how we are going to pick lakes and dates for these tournament. That way we can add it to the list of rules. Each tournament will be determined by a majority vote to decide which lake and date to schedule the event or vote for a lake and date on this side of 65 and then vote for a lake and date on the other side of 65. Are we going to do it as a whole group or make two divisions? I would also suggest when a lake is picked, it can't be picked again till the series of tournaments are done.

I would also suggest putting in the rules that, once the rules are carved in stone, they can not be changed till a certain time period.

Anybody else with ideals or suggestions?

I was thinking (and that can be dangerous ) that we could do a blind draw of lakes, after picking the months in which we would have the tourneys. Since we are only considering 3 or 4 tourneys for 2014 ... I see no reason to worry about repeating a lake, since we could simply leave that lake out of the following draws, once it's chosen. (or) We could divide the state into as many sections as there are tourneys, and draw a lake from each section.

Considering the Spring Fling in April & the Fall Brawl in Oct (& similar periods for the West KY Shindigs) .... I thought May, July, Sept would be good months to have the tourneys. One warm month, one hot month, and one transitional month ... as far as weather conditions apply.

But, these are just some of my thoughts. I'll go along with majority rule on whatever rules we adopt, or however the lakes/dates are chosen.

i agree chucky rules cant be changed until a certain time. i think at the start of the next year for rules changes. pappy why only 3 or 4 tourneys the whole year. why not 1 a month or every other month. and if you are wanting to have tourneys in the hotter months you will probably have to rewrite the rule about fish has to be alive.

something i have noticed about this whole thing is and not saying it is a bad thing

at first there we was going to have a couple of tourneys this month to see how they went
and now we are talking about 2 divisions and years to come.

in my opinion there has not been enough people that has posted on here to have to divisions only been 10 to 15 people interested and only been a hand full of us to post ideals and concerns.

i think for we become we have the CRAPPIE.COM TOURNAMENT TRAIL we need to just set up a date and have a tourney
somewhere. I think it would do more good to do that because:

    1. can see how many people are interested
    2. people that hasnt fished crappie tournaments see what it is like
3 those people would have a better ideal what the rules are like and may have more ideals about improving them
4 we could get a better ideal what people want to do going forward
5 people would have a better ideal what they are voting for as far as rules go etc....

i think the only thing we need to vote on right now is what lake to have it and when we can us crappieusa rule this one and everybody meet at ramp to pay fees.

I would vote for green river only because i think most people like to fish. and i vote for holmes bend ramp
and i vote for sat. dec 14th unless the weather says otherwise.

I don't believe CUSA cancels tournaments for weather issues.(tornados might be a exception) ha

Spring tourney on Ky lake 20-35 mph winds during tourney hrs.
Classic this fall 29 degrees air temp at start of tourney.

    Just saying.....

As far as the tourneys go ... I think if we set the rules, whether by committee or vote, they should not be changed ... period. That's why we're proposing our ideas, so we get it right & fair for those interested in participating. Once a "club" is established, then rule changes could be voted on, if necessary.

I suggested 3-4 tourneys (one every other month +/-) so that they would not interfere with the annual events we are already having (Fling/Brawl/Shindigs). I was considering that many people attending these events may have to choose between them & a tourney, due to things like travel distance - work - hunting - cost - etc ... and that may lower the attendance of either or both events. We would also have to take into account the CUSA & CKCA tournament schedules

I suggested those months so that they would cover most of the weather/temp range, so that all the different methods of fishing would have a period of higher potential.

I don't remember any suggestion of having tourneys until next year. The suggestion was to have a few tourneys to see how well they worked, with the idea in mind of having a club IF they were successful & participation was high enough.

I'm just making suggestions & throwing out opinions ... I'll go along with whatever rules are decided upon.

We're not getting enough participation, at this stage of the game, to put anything together. And if we have to put every rule or suggestion to a vote, it's likely going to take a few months to get that done.
