i agree with you chucky, about the rule changing. I think that rules is something that needs to be voted on by everybody and once they are set CANT BE CHANGED UNTIL BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE NEXT YEARS TOURNEYS. but as you know most of the rules are cut and dry and most people like. only a couple that some people have a problem with.

maybe we could work with the ckca and fish the same lakes as them. Then members could fish both. Also we might get some new members from them and grow our group. Just a thought. Also maybe we could schedule a meeting one weekend to talk and work out all the details. Maybe a restaurant some where. But count me in anyway.

When the CKCA first started i tried to get them to become members here at crappie.com. Even when David and Ricky took over after Freddy left they still didn't become members. I used to post every tournament they had but when i saw that they were not going to support crappie.com, i quit posting the tourneys. David and Ricky are good fellows but the members have decline after the first couple of years. First and second year we had about 32-38 members. Last time i looked, there was 18 and yes, i am still a member. Haven't fished any tourneys except a couple of the summer night ones.

Looking at a map and top rated crappie lakes in the state. There are around 18 lakes in 3 regions east, central, west. Each with about 6 good lakes. It would be nice to schedule a couple in each region {open to ALL members} and the have 1 at green which is about the center of the state. This could be our FALL BRAWL get together. Maybe each region could have a SPRING FLING say at ky lake, Cumberland, Dewey all top rated lakes similar to what we do now at green and ky. It would give us a chance to travel to new lakes and meet new people. Schedule each region tournament on different days so all members could attend if they wish. I would be willing to help any way possible and fish out of the central zone. Who is interested in helping list your name and zone. Maybe crappie papy can set something up.

We joined in the fall and fished 2 tournaments they had 7 boats at each. We were looking for a place to fish and make friends. Don't care about the money. But I think they do need some different rules like a set rule on pay backs. I have several friends who fish small bass tournaments for the friendship. I think they would switch to crappie club if available. I fished a bass club for years and enjoyed it very much made lots of new friends. I hope we can get something started. My wife and I fish about every weekend, and would love the friendships we could make.

Like slabeye, crappieusa has about the best set of "standard" rules for a crappie tournament there is. It covers all the basics. But like buffalo13 said, no matter what, still have fun.

That's why i joined the CKCA the first year they started and been a member ever since. Its was not for the money but fishing new lakes and meeting people. Slabeye can test to this, one year they scheduled a tourney at Dale hollow. First everyone was coming, was looking at about 15-18 boats. A few of us went down on Fri. Got cabins/rooms. Sat morning there were 5 boats in the parking lot. We didn't go home, we all fished. Why, because that's want we loved to do.
No one even made enough money to cover the gas down and back. We found out later the rest didn't come because it was either to far or it was not enough money for their time.

I don't think we would schedule any tournaments during any spring or fall crappie.com event. Its all ready a job to get everything ready, catch fish, cook fish and get to talk to everybody. Our events is mainly for us to get together, see all our friends, meet the new members and just B.S for awhile.

right you are chucky, i only fished the first year in ckca i fished 6 or 7 out of the 9 that year. and i think at the 3 or so tourney at green there was 15 to 20 boats at all of them. around 10 the 2 at cumberland 5 at dale and 6 at nolin.. i missed the ones at taylorsville because of work so dont know how many was there.

The reason i stop fishing them was because of all the rule changes made and that would have been fine with me but there was no vote. That is why i think a vote is very important for at least some of the rules. MOST IMPORTANT ONE IS ABOUT LAUNCHING.

I like the Crappie U.S.A. rules. If you want to end up with alot of money after fishing crappie tourneys you better have plenty before you start.

I agree on the rule changes my biggest problem. Also their website is not kept updated it still doesn't show results of 10/26/2013 tournament. And the fact there is no vote on the rule changes.
